Duke Nukem Forever Delayed
Here we go again.
Duke Nukem Forever is the gaming industry’s longest running joke. The appropriately named game from 3D Realms has been in development since 1997. When the development studio ran out of funding in 2010, they handed development over to Gearbox Software. According to an official statement from 2K, the game’s publisher, the release date has been pushed back from May 3rd to June 14th.
Acknowledging the irony of the situation, 2K president Christoph Hartmann stated, ”We’re committed to deliver a laugh-out-loud, politically incorrect experience that people will talk about for years to come, we thank Duke’s fans for their continued patience – I promise this won’t take another 15 years.”
Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford added, ”I’m very sorry for the added delay. We’ve all been working extremely hard and are very eager to deliver the game to you.”
If you’ve waited this long to come get some, I guess one more month isn’t that much longer.
